I’m a web developer and consultant with over 20 years of experience working in a long-term, in-house role for an ecommerce company. During that time, I handled a wide range of IT responsibilities, with a primary focus on researching, building, and maintaining custom websites and backend database systems. Everything we built was developed internally, which gave me deep experience creating tailored solutions from the ground up.
Over the years, I worked extensively with APIs and third-party services including Google, Amazon, payment processors, shipping carriers, tax services, and more. I designed and built custom systems such as a full product review platform that performed on par with leading third-party tools, along with automated video review requests triggered by positive customer feedback. I also developed customer account and order status pages that provided real-time access to data from our custom ordering system, giving users better visibility and a smoother overall experience.
That role also meant working beyond just website code. Supporting a real, production ecommerce platform required handling server environments, integrations, troubleshooting issues across different systems, and building internal tools to simplify day-to-day operations. This broader experience helps me understand how everything fits together — not just how a website looks, but how it functions within a larger technical ecosystem.
In recent years, I’ve shifted my focus toward improving how modern websites are built. Too many sites struggle with performance, mobile usability, and unnecessary complexity. I’ve spent significant time researching and implementing techniques to improve real-world speed and reliability, using modern web standards and tools supported by Google and the broader web community. Mobile-first development has been a core priority in my work for many years.
At heart, I enjoy solving problems and making systems work better. The platforms I’ve supported were rarely typical, often requiring creative solutions and thoughtful integration between systems. Continuous learning has always been part of the job — and something I genuinely enjoy.
My goal today is simple: build clean, efficient websites and tools that make other people’s jobs easier and help organizations operate more effectively. When you work with me, you work directly with the person building your site — no middlemen, no unnecessary complexity, just practical solutions that fit your needs.
